I can think of someone whom I believe is on the FS run tomorrow, who will be rather pleased to get the big blue machine hauling him back South!

Yes they are. Still think they look better in two-tone green, but perhaps that's just me... :)

There were crowd comments about the whistle at Welham Green too before arrival but we didn't have the pleasure of hearing it!

    Seen at Welham Green.

It was HEAVING, with a capital H. Workers left offices and factories nearby, Husbands and Wives, dads with kids, mothers with kids, more there than a morning rush hour, its going to be lineside chaos tomorrow.

How can the same company that made the Chime on a A4, produce that asthmatic, wheezing excuse of an audible warning ?, more befitting of a clapped out Andrew Barclay than an East Coast racehorse.

It would be interesting to know, for future reference, whether DBS/NRM/Steam Dreams or whoever are paying extra for the light engine path, and if so how much?

Hoping to see FS at some point tomorrow morning.

I hope all goes well tomorrow for her return to Home Turf and her dash along the ECML. All those that have bought tickets; I hope you all have a great day.
I will certainly have the late, Great, Alan Pegler in my thoughts tomorrow when watching the coverage on YT and the TV as if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have this fine Locomotive with us today. A real shame he is not around to see her back where she belongs.

As the BBC One Show has given out both the route and timings a minute ago I think you are right about the chaos.

Serious question - isn't the whistle subject to the FTR? And if so how can such a weedy thing compared to anything else on the mainline pass? Even on the ELR they were using the class 31 horn to reinforce 103.

They've only given the KX start time and then the public display time at the NRM and have warned people to stay 'behind the barriers'.
