Just backing up what others have said. Sad news about 60009 this evening. ELR Twitter feed posted this earlier:
"Due to a new fault that was found upon returning to shed tonight, 60009 will now not feature throughout the rest of the Easter weekend". https://t.co/ZJhZilsWNR

Hope that is a minor not a major problem as GBX in Scotland hinges on 60009 being available. At least it's in the right place to be fixed, hopefully.

According to the "Works" appears to be a defect in outer firebox that needs investigation.

That is a utter bargain by the way, when we got the chance at Mid Hants (which was subsequently cancelled), it was £600.07 ea, I will let you guess the loco that it was supposed to be with????

Mr Riley has reported that they had a good day but 60009 is a bit short of 100%, they're going to do a bit of tweaking today.

As the weather was so wet and miserable today I watched one of my 'steamy' films from 2007 .

One of the nicest clips is of Union of South Africa running at speed through the Avon Valley at Freshford en route to Bath and Bristol.

What a magnificent machine. I'm sure that many of us will miss N0.9 when her final run has taken place. <BJ>

Great set of pics posted by Ian Riley, of the valve gear, for 60009, due to be re-fitted today.

lets hope this gets her running at 100%.

    From IR, last night....

No.9 is re-assembled at York following a P&V overhaul, static steam test tomorrow followed by a Test run later in the week and a positioning move to London
