Wow, you guys certainly are rushing ahead, so at this rate whats going to steam first, 46447 or 41298 wont it be uncanny if both end up in steam on the same day either by design or by pure chance

Not quite so exciting an update as last week, the handrails have been fitted, both delivery pipes have been made and also the pipework for the small ejector

On Sunday 27th July we expect if the weather is fine that 46447 will be pulled out of the workshop to enable the public a better view. It will not be possible to gain access onto the loco.

More new pipework has been fitted to the cab, all done as per the original drawings.

The tender has also been partially filled with water, to check for any leaks in the pipework to the injectors.

Another Mickey Mouse! Looking forward to seeing it steam. Have fond memories of 46521 & 46443 they are cracking little engines.

Steam in the boiler, water in the tender - you'll be running trains before long!

    Well done.

Nobody seems to have asked that most important of questions 'what colour's it going to be?'! Takes cover and crawls...

This picture might provide a clue as to the main colour, for those with a keen eye.

Dreadful! Blue with yellow panel! So will it be a transfer or a cast double arrow! Joking aside really chuffed for what you folks have done more power to you I say. Can I ask what its allocation history was?

i think you should have gone for the rail blue with the white and grey lining with a small double arrow on the tender lined in Br mixed traffic style , has anyone actually done a drawing of how this would have looked whilst the Vof R engines carried blue, did they get lined out at any time whilst carrying it?

While the updates may have slowed (sorry!), work continues apace on returning 46447 to steam; the copper pipework in the cab is now complete, the superheater elements and blastpipe have been fitted in the smokebox and the tender is receiving the final coats of black paint.

It is planned to launch 46447 back into traffic prior to the 11:00 departure from Cranmore on Sunday 26th October, a mere 103 weeks since she first entered the workshops at Cranmore. More details will follow at a later date.

Compare this to the recent photo in post #125. 46447 is pictured in the rain just after arrival at Cranmore, 01/11/2012.

Who would have out money on 41298 only beating 46447 into steam by a few weeks? Remarkable work...
