RTC now shows 46233 deputising for 6023 on 28th Nov, Paddington-Worcester, as well as the various 60009 duties that she's covering.

I do get the impression that NR isn't keeping up with gauging measurements as much as it should, and a lot of these "out of gauge" restrictions are paper only than physical, I recall reading the other day for example, there are long and ridiculous restrictions on the Heart of Wales line currently, because the track is out of date for being tested!, as whole NR look in a complete mess currently with many suffering from their lack of action, not just the tour scene.

I certainly suspect this is the case with the GWML, as the wires generally increase the loading gauge, not decrease, especially if your going for W10 clearance for freightliner traffic.

Regards to the Victoria to York train via MML . The Kettering to Corby line is being doubled at the moment ,as of two weeks ago the earthworks were nearly completed , second track yet to be laid .Could be difficult on gauging for some time.

RTC now showing start/finish at West Drayton instead of Paddington and no pick-up at Didcot. Return is still via Golden Valley and Swindon.

It is indeed cancelled. I was just starting to look at train timings at the beginning of the week to get to Reading and get back again as we were intending to travel on this one. Doh!
Not a great year at all this year. Lets hope a New Year brings better luck for all concerned with ML Steam.

Can't someone get one of the Irish generator vans on standard gauge bogies and warm the train that way?

Isn't there at least one genny van still available for steam tours? Had one when I did Tornado's first main line run.
