Just a note for those on board, there is now a delay of 10/15 minutes between Chester and Crewe, some track problem, and a quite severe speed restriction.

On the basis of that clip it seems that the stakes have now been raised somewhat on what a quality Scot should look and sound like. To be fair, though, this one is more ex-Works that the other one and it shows. :)

Cracking photo. I prefer the colour version to the b&w - has more life in it.

Hard to believe that the restoration race was neck-and-neck at one point! ;-)

Pity really because it probably took the shine off the tour which celebrates the triumphant return of 46100.

I really wish this kind of of provocation would cease.....sentences beginning with 'so' and 'and' designed to start an argument. Time to grow up.

Of course everyone would prefer no diesel but I think that today, given everything they have going on legally,
WCRC should be applauded for resourcing the simultaneous return of two icons of steam to the mainline.

Do the DBS/Pathfinder version on May 28th if you want no tailgunner, I am given everything going on with WCRC and the lack of/lack of interesting tours from VT as a result.

Perhaps if you had been on board you would have realised that it was little detraction at all, everyone was so pleased to see and travel behind her for the first time. For a few of us it was not the first time, but there had been a long absence.

Jon don't forget RTC as well, whatever the knockers say, they played their part as well.

Contemplating that one too and with a pick up at Tame Bridge Parkway, it's great for us locals. VT & the castle are out on the same day too I think.

Its great that in 2016 you have a restored scot in steam and running well to moan about.

Agreed Ralph, it's a credit to all concerned on what, on a grim February Saturday, appears to have been a good day for steam .
