Yes, Liam it looks absolutely miserable; but this is one that I must witness.

    Cheers,

RTT shows light engine movements to and from Crewe Refuge Sidings,. which suggest a diesel staying at Crewe ... but it may arrive with top and tail diesels. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Can't remember a WCRC operated train to Holyhead not taking a diesel for the shunting there. Hope for travellers and photographers who brave the weather that tomorrow is the first. Looks good as Dave has taken the +Diesel off the timings. LE move at Holyhead 46100 only.

I fully hope that a wee little shower does not put you Northern Numpty Linesiders off your stroke, and we Softy Southerners expect a full compliment of stills and fillum of both todays "scot Royal and man " adventures.

Meanwhile down south (to quote operation overlord) "a small window of barely tolerable weather will open up" to allow me to get out and film some steam pulling fancy potting sheds.

Yes thanks, Flying Scotsman may have the public attention but last time 6100 hauled a main line passenger train was a lot longer ago so really this was a more significant occasion.

Shame WCRC didn't break their duck on the route and leave the 47 at Crewe.

First run out with a rebuild, and you think that it's OK to take the risk?
