On it's first main passenger train since 1962, 46100 Royal Scot has it's debut on Saturday 6th of Feb., an event possibly more significant than the outing of 103 further north. A very welcome return to you "Royal Scot".

    Cheers,

    Alan

I wasn't scoring a point..you actually had me check the date on my computer...thought I'd lost a week somewhere!

Yes I agree, hope they both have a successful trip out.

And with the steam section from Crewe only 25 minutes drive, you know it makes sense...

The two Alans will be heading to the 'wild' West and are happy with most Steam Loco's - Coach G, Mr Whitby.

I'll be on neither as I'll be charging through the east German countryside behind a big 2-8-2. :)

Surprised at the lack of interest in this tour, that's being shown on here ! Are we to expect a diesel ? I take it the turning facilities at Valley are still in operation ?

I kind of think that despite what is going on in the Fells that Royal Scot's first mainline tour shall not go unnoticed. My optimistic opinion.

Bookings I believe are good, since it's diesel hauled to Crewe and this is the first outing I will not be surprised if the diesel stays on. Valley triangle still operational.

The forecast looks dire, but will still head to Beeston in hope of something.
