3 boilers, 2 locomotives... a no-brainer, really. We know how quickly IR & his team can turn around a Black 5 overhaul, including the boiler, already; this probably makes things much quicker & easier for the future.

Does anyone have any reliable information as to this group's progress with recovering a Turkish 8F boiler unit ( and any other spares) to the UK? It is a reasonable assumption that the group must have been confident of the way ahead when they sold on the original boiler to Ian Riley.

(44901 website still shows "down for maintenance", as it has done for some time)

    Thanks in advance

Just bringing this topic back to the top, anyone have any reliable info regarding this group obtaining a boiler unit from Turkey for the engine?

    Thanks

Not heard anything new. And we (as were buying a front bogie with the same batch from turkey) will be informed as soon as there is progress

Gav106:--I am struggling to find the "edit" icon on the new set-up, but just wanted to add that I assume you mean a "front wheelset and axle" rather than a front "bogie". I assume you already have one wheelset from the dismantled ex-Barry 8F, the one whose boiler is being hacked into a GW-type.
