    Straight from the horse's mouth:
Rumours that the test run has been cancelled or postponed have not been confirmed or denied over there - yet. Anyone in the Carnforth area? Is the test train still there? If it's sat in the loop, there's a chance it may yet run. If it's in WCRC's yard, I guess it's not going today - or at least, not in daylight!

Definitely not operating today due to prevailing weather conditions on WCML.

Rumour has it she is coming back to Crewe tomorrow, don't know if this will be a test run or not. Maybe the plan is for a run around the Crewe-Shrewsbury circle or even the North Wales coast as the test.

Why would the plan be to go round the houses and not just run Carnforth to Crewe and back as the test? Think theres alittle bit of dreaming/wishing going on there! Guess we'll just have to see what happens for those people up norf.....

No dreaming or wishing Shoddy, I was only speculating in view of the fact that several years ago the routes I mentioned were used for test runs.

I was at carnforth at 3.30 and spoke to a member of riley's support crew, he said they are hoping to go tomorrow and are waiting for NR to tell them what time and which route they will be taking.
he also remarked that the 8F and 5 in the shed looked nearly complete.
    so nothing definite there then.
he also remarked that the 'stevenson' would be going to the great central this week. well thats just one mans opinion. good as any lately.
and also that 871 is expected to stay till the 30th to be deiseled to meet 407 at manchester.

According to The Works, 44871 was due to run Carnforth - Euxton Junction this morning, leaving about 11:00. HTH
