So a good question to look at those options (and I don't know the answer) is who are all the people in the support coach on a WC operated Steam Tour?

It was a question in response to post made by another contributor in the spirit of DISCUSSION. It would seem that you are not very keen on discussions on a discussion forum though...

Obtuse reply. Let's make it a bit easier for you. Employed paid staff or unpaid volunteers?

More than likely the former, and their support staff ( tea makers, groupies, wannabe's and hangers on, who are probably the latter)
But the former will have course of all signed confidentiality agreements and the latter warned they wont be allowed to play anymore if they don't keep schtum
:Finger:you aint seen me... roight ?

No idea as to their status but having chatted to some of them, they do get a good laugh from some of the posts in WCRC threads on here. Keep up the good work. :)

Most are no different than any other railway workshop, a mix of employed, on their rest day, employed, with a safety critical role, so part of their paid duty to be there, and unpaid voluenteers who may or may not have roles with in the CRSS Company.

Nice to know that the unsung heros of the main line steam movement - the loco support crews - are held in such high esteem by you knowledgeable good self. Without them there would be no main line steam regardless of who owns or operates the locos.

I was going to say something similar but pleased you got there first as someone who knows what Mainline steam operation is like at the sharp end.

Yes, fair point, and yes I've been there myself and yes i have made tea, idolised the loco. and wished i was better able /qualified to do more ... and I don't hold anyone in any form of esteem if they haven't got a sense of humour
