Thanks for this. It's good to see one of the class in much better shape than its main line sister (IMHO)

And the first run was in sunshine - at Oakworth at least -

Thanks for watching, I have many fond memories of her performances in the '80's so it was wonderful to see and hear her in action once more

Nice pic Fred but forgive me for saying so, I find it somewhat over sharpened.

Looks like a Bulleid, smells like a Bulleid but it sounds like its been Bullied...

I assume that's the Geisel effect making the "j94" sound effect ?

Nice looking loco with the high raves and early logo...

Yes - I have noted this before on some images but I use the constant factors on all images so presume it must be the sensitivity of the software or the reproduction medium as others images reproduce "normally"; however another image to savour with apologies for any excessive sharpness.

Great to see this loco back. Does anyone know when the re-naming is likely to take place?

Reports from the weekend inferred that the re-naming will be a dedication performed by the Bishop of Wells; following the postponement of the previous date because the loco wasn't ready a new date is being arranged and will be published once confirmed.

It has been worth the waiting it really has and to think back to the disastrous start to this overhaul when the axle boxes were stolen. The estimate for their replacement was scary enough back then. Best preserved Bulleid in pre rebuild condition (ignore the exhaust - Bulleid would always have gone for a better system). Probably. Very probably. More like beyond doubt.

The Bishop of Bath and Wells is his official title I believe. Nothing like getting a bit of divine help though. :)

I really hope that the money can be raised for a mainline return. This locomotive is superb and has many of the qualities I like when powering a train. That exhaust is great. At this point it is more worthwhile to go to KWVR and take a round trip.
