Does anyone have any current news or pictures of 34092. I understand that the new high sided tender tank has been fitted to the frames and that work on the loco itself is now focussed on the bolier and to fitting the tubes?

There was an article in last month's Heritage Railway by Peter Kelly which gave an update on progress including other locos on the Worth Valley. Progress is slow but steady with no date given for completion. It is also unlikely to be going mainline.

Nonsense! Everything does NOT have to be done by qualified engineers. You certainly don't need an NVQ in "scraping crud off things" before you can start cleaning the frames, wheels etc. of a loco.

If that were true then the world of steam preservation, especially mainline, would be in for some nasty shocks.
Also, how do you interpret the word "Qualified". Served a full 5 year apprenticeship, got ONC, HNC, HND, MIMechE or what?

Will be good to see another Spamcan back on the rails. Didn't see much of '92 last time round, although I did manage to catch her first test run on the KWVR all those years ago, so hope to see more of jet this time round.

Will be nice to have another out and about, and to see if I can finally break my spamcam in steam duck.
