I have just added a couple of more pics to the web site, one showing the recent brake test. It is difficult to say when exactly the loco will appear, as you never know what is around the corner to trip you up, but it looks like sometime in April.

I wish it could be specific myself, as I want to get the printing of my illustration of 34059 timed correctly, making sure it is available at the time of the re-naming, but not getting the printing invoice to early!

If people want to help with the cost of the restoration, why not join the 300+ Club - you could win some money at the same time! Follow the link on the status page: http://www.locos-in-profile.co.uk/Bulle ... r_sas.html

Will they be hiring another engine this year? Although I know it bit a drain on resources but been nice to see a bit a varity on the line. 41312, 34028, and 5199 so far...

They have had Western, Midland region engines around maby they could hire something eastern!!!!

The point of hiring in was that the line was short of engines, with 34059 coming back that *should* mean we don't have the same problems, hiring engines is all well and good for variety, but money is the issue at the moment. Besides, if push comes to shove, we always have 73136... 8-[

It does say on the Bluebell's special event page that for Giants of Steam there will be a visiting loco so it will be interesting to debate and eventually find out what that engine will be. But the only confirmed visitor so far is the P class for Branch Line w/e next month. But with 34059 "hopefully" imminent to return to steam soon and money being so tight I can't see a long-term visiting loco arriving.

Bulleid launch day, where Archie and Bulleid Brake 2526 are "presented to the public", is meant to be in April. And I think it is the weekend after easter if all goes well.

Would be good to see 34059 with a brand new/outshopped Bulleid Brake...

As I understand it the aim is for Easter.
John Archibold Sinclair, 3rd Viscount Thurso, my old neighbour, grandson of the loco 'Sir Archibold Sinclair', has by all accounts made arrangements to visit over Easter so imagine this will be to 'return loco to traffic'.

This could of course all go wrong. 8-[

Looking at the pictures on the Bullied Society website I'd say a steam test isn't far away.

Here, here!!..... I reckon a month to 6 weeks is viable??? That is as long as they find everything okay with the motion and the wheels etc.... We all know what happened to Braunton and how steam tests can go???....

Mutterings going round in the 2526 restoration team that the launch has been set back to early May now. Meanwhile 2526 is in the final stages of restoration, Bulleid open's 1482 and 1464 will be receiving a nice coat of paint and brake 4279 is going to have a quick tosh over with paint to hide the bare metal livery for the launch train.

Is the delay due to issues with the work on 2526 or 34059?
