Boscastle will be on the move...travelling to Quorn for display during the Winter Gala (Jan 27 - 29th). It will be 50 years since the locomotive arrived at the GCR from Barry.

There has been more work done on the tender pipework and lots of time has been spent on trying to source replacement parts for those which were stolen last year.
Boscastle will again be moved to Quorn for the 50th Anniversary Event June 17/18th. There will be a large photographic display and two or three guides available to talk about the engine and the work being done.

There is a lot of work going on to prepare for Boscastle's move to Quorn for the 50th anniversary event.
It was pleasing to find that the tender was rolling very freely on its previous trip. As part of the overhaul the tender horn guides had been checked and the frames were not quite "square"! This was a longstanding situation probably caused by a heavy "Shunt" in BR days. Needless to say this has now been corrected by machining.
When finished, the tender will be available for hire to other Bulleid locomotive groups.
The new Boscastle Official Supporters Club is steadily gaining members and has now issued its 7th monthly newsletter. ( More details on the Boscastle website.)

    Boscastle returned to Quorn!

But there is still a big bit missing... Nevertheless James and Pamela Tawse were very pleased to see the locomotive, that they saved from Barry, is slowly coming together again.

It is the Boscastle Locomotive Ltd AGM this weekend at Lovatt House (Sat 11 am start). There is much to report on following a busy year and two trips to Quorn for the locomotive and tender.
The BOS Club has been steadily gaining members (free to join) and there have been regular updates provided to them - details on the BLL website.

The AGM went well and there was some good news to report, as the Insurance claim for the stolen parts has been recommended for a significant intrim payment. Also it is hoped that the boiler work will be restarting soon as Tornado is approaching completion at LMS. There is still the urgent need to raise funds to get the locomotive completed.
