Somewhat surprised that there appears to be no thread for today's trip. Have I missed something - cancelled, etc? If it is running, I wondered if anyone knows what happens to the train once it reaches Shalford tonight - is it ECS on to Redhill, or back to Guildford?

Just heard from a wife of a support crew member that the trip has been cancelled. Loco unable to get out of Southall due to major signalling problems in the London area.

I hear that the tour is running, but DL-hauled all day. As Spamcan81 says, the fire at Airport Junction (signalling equipment?) has trapped 70000 in Southall depot.

No recent information on the Steam Dreams twitter feed (@on_train) yet nor the Latest News page of their web site. I guess if it was cancelled completely, there would be a message on one or the other.

    From Steam Dreams Twitter:

"Running to time. Due to fire at signal box near Paddington 70000 Britannia is currently trapped at Southall, may be diesel hauled all day"

Just heard from my contact that confirms it could be DL hauled.

Confirmed as diesel hauled at present, a few minutes late through Bickley.

Yeah, I had already rocked up at my chosen spot, 40 miles away from home when I found out the news, so I filmed the diesel hauled stock anyway, you'll all be pleased to know the genny wasn't needed. Funnily enough As I was in the car just about to leave, another diesel hauled tour growled through, looked like a VSOE pullman set.

Indeed it was another diesel tour, and it was the VSOE, from London Victoria to Ashford and back.

I know the tour was completely diesel hauled but is the light engine move of Britannia still happening this evening to Wimbledon?

Can't see that happening; just look at the massive cancellations and delays to the service trains !! Hardly anything moving

Ok well our house backs onto mainline route to Wimbledon was just wondering whether it would still run. Sounds like it won't. Why was it going to Wimbledon?

I presume tyre turning? 60163 went to Wimbledon for tyre turning after the run on the 10th March.
