Great news- I thought it must be close to returning if not- good that they have a home based loco operational again finally.

There’s a post on the MRC Instagram feed of it running, albeit it pre-final paint. The MRC website talks about a 2021 update, so could do with a bit of a refresh of its own.

I believe one of the magazines recently mentioned Hunslet 1589 'Newstead' as a potential returnee during 2024 at the Spa Valley, although I stand to be corrected.

That is the current hope. Boiler due back January last updated I had on that, then it's on to the tests and reassembly.

Will 70013’s return be both GCR and Mainline?

Does anyone know anything about how far 92212 is through the overhaul, LSL posted something about the boiler but that is all I have seen.
Could possibly be a contender for next year?

Yes. I understand from the grapevine that the GCR have a period of exclusive use when it re-enters service, and then it will be operating from the GCR with mainline and visits to other railways as agreed.

Wasn't it being overhauled at the West Shed by PRCLT? Since their CME left to go to Ecclesbourne they've stopped contract work, so I assume it's been paused.

Project 62's Born In The USSR 30075 has come on leaps and bounds since I last heard anything about the project and is down to a handful of jobs.

Interestingly on this I went to the Project62 website to see the latest update (https://www.project62.co.uk/news-1), which mentions cutting down Bullhead Rail lengths for the grate support! Assuming this wasn't what was used when the loco was first built!!

They didn't use bullhead rail in Yugoslavia, so unlikely! Repairs were probably something equally as agricultural though.

I wish I could find the piece now but wasn't this one to be returned in some purple livery for charity? It was definitely one of the Shillingstone pair.

No, that's the one at the Plym Valley Railway. I'm not sure if that plan is still active-the last entry on the Facebook page was in October 2020. https://www.facebook.com/Tkhlob

Had problems with perforated superheater elements. These have now been replaced and it is operational again and will see out the rest of its ticket to 24th December.

Yes it was Keith. I was hoping to come across the news piece I read about it. I couldn't find it because the Preserved British Steam website has a blindspot for the class
