    The Kirklees Light Railway at Clayton West near Huddersfield will be holding its Spring Steam & Diesel Gala over the weekend of the 28th February and the 1st March. This gala will be an opportunity for the KLR to dig out all its home based rolling stock before its busy Spring seasons starts.

    Trains will be running every half an hour from 10:30 until 16:00 each day and there will be an hourly shuttle service which will feature a mixed train which will run to Skelmanthorpe (the KLRs halfway station).

    Trains will be hauled by Kerr Stuart style 0-6-4st Badger, Hawk - a half sized locomotive based on a Kitson Meyer locomotive built by Barclay in 1903, Owl - a half sized Heisler locomotive based on Avonside's Twin design and Jay the railways 4wDH locomotive.

    Fox the railways 2-6-2t will be on static display as it is awaiting retubing.

    Visitors will have an opportunity to be a "Driver for a Fiver" (age restrictions apply) and there will also be a small Food Fayre promoting the best of Yorkshire local produce.
