During Covid there was an interesting side effect of all this. Those that had their ticket treated as an entry fee could definitely not open. They were visitor attractions and must remain shut. Those like the MHR for example that charged for...

The Talyllyn have worked this way for a while as do others. The ticket becomes a donation often an additional amount is added. The wrinkle is that the transaction/donation is then with the charity not the company, so I think in some places has...

Ok, but I’m not sure there was any greater incidence of boiler failure or low water incidents on the GW/WR than anywhere else, and locos with two glasses were not immune either. As I say, I get the reasoning behind having two and I probably...

That’s the purpose of the test cocks. I get the preference for two. Just never thought it a huge issue to only have one.

It doesn’t really need to….just how low it is. You shouldn’t run with just one anyway so in practice I am not sure it makes a lot of difference, you just get on and change it.

Use the test cocks (that’s what they’re for) and replace glass.

Rapid evolution rather than revolution definitely a good aspiration. We must wait to see how members vote. There are of course many possible interpretations whenever votes are cast unless the question being voted on is very specific, but I think...

It is not the experienced person you need to think about though, but the ease of collecting that experience. Yes they could have made changes as you suggest, but those would inevitably have introduced component variation and that was what they...

That’s not correct. I think part of the design brief and hence the tender design was about being able to do a substantial amount of tender first running. (On the WC/BB) I agree GW engines are less ergonomic than some later designs. However, a...

There is not a single GW engine that is more difficult to Prep than the Bullied! And now a days on GW engines you can have all the rocking grate, hopper pans, etc.
