    I think the point is: if you're running to Whitby, you need the right coaches to do so. Yes the Whitby set is Mk. 1s but I'd expect that you need to maintain enough so that if one set fails you have enough in reserve. You can take Mk1s from the...

    Of interest might be an interview in the current issue of Heritage Railway magazine, where Laura is quoted as saying they want to have the Teaks back, but currently need to prioritise keeping the mark 1 stock (which can run to Whitby) in service....
