Like implying the the ORR might be responsible for the late start to the season.

Bit like the middle east really, one side says it had an agreement but that doesn't mean anything has been agreed. It strikes me as more PR balls from Carnforth just trying to put a positive spin from the dire straits of the Lune. I think it was...

This has been rumbling on for years. To me it’s very much in the WIBN category. It’s not made it into any of the strategic rail reviews, even at stage 1 feasibility study level iirc. Disappointing for those of us who were in at the launch of...

Have they actually reached an agreement with the ORR on anything? It doesn't read like it. Conceding to fit CDL is not reaching an agreement - it is the bare bones requirement to run your stock on the national network. Had they actually reached...

Except that the discussion wasn't just "whether" but also "under what terms". Part A has been answered, but part B remains unclear - and based on everything that ORR have said before, is critically important detail.

No, but it would happen within a timescale agreed to by the ORR and applicant of a temporary derogation. I really hope we see mk1s running in Fort William this year, have no grudge against West Coast having travelled on many of their trains in...

I totally share your scepticism. Nothing new there, just confirms what we already know, but now it’s out in the public domain. My take away is that there’s currently no exemption granted. Ulterior motive? Draw your own conclusion.

Proper spin there. Just waiting for it to be the "Big bad ORRs" fault that they can't run Mk1s again this year.

I wouldn’t miss it! By some measure the most impressive locomotive erection facility in the country.

If you have not yet visited the works, come along on this Saturday 11th after 10.00 and you will see a locomotive/engineering workshop full of folk, displays, and 2 mainline engines in the process of being built. It only costs £3 for non-members,...

How many delay minutes from today’s shenanigans? I sincerely hope that GBR haven’t been taking a close interest in the performance of these recent tours .
