[MEDIA] Here's my footage of 7029 Clun Castle sounding incredible on the Final Shakespeare Express of 2025 on Remembrance Sunday. I filmed her at Salwarpe Foot Crossing, Lapworth and Danzey Stations. I hope you enjoy it.

With 80135 coming on stream, I doubt much will happen with 80136. It will probably join 76079 & 75029. IMHO, the NYMR needs to budget at least £800K a year for locos, £300K for coaches and £400K for infrastructure work, ideally more.

I see a lot of similarities with the SVR in the recent past and what’s going in North Yorkshire at the moment, is there someone like Gus up there atm?

The SVR is still a heritage railway, the NYMR is no longer in that category. The work of the LNERCA is up there with the best of any carriage restoration group, and it is thus a great shame that is isn't either appreciated or valued by the...

The SVR’s Great Western set is a wonderful example of what can be done if you choose to do it properly, the recently completed disabled buffet (can’t think of its number) is an absolute work of art.

I think this is unfortunately the result of so much focus being put on short term financial pressure and not enough on the longer term. Whilst I'm not saying the short term didn't need action, I think the balance moved far too much. What's the...

I would suggest just a big a nod to all at Tyesely too, given they did the vast majority of the work on her overhaul. I do hope there is some freedom to work with other operators other than LSL (as was hinted at by the owners of SNG when they...

Yes really enjoyed it - I thought Piglet did a really good job of explaining what he was doing and why, it was properly educational. Even my wife was interested!

I watched it on catchup yesterday and thought it was a really good advert for the railway. I was never a great fan of the last TV series the railway did with its fake drama added in, though there were good bits. The new one seems much more down...

I watched it last night and it was a lot better than the Channel 5 programme. Less cheesy.

Sticking to the NYMR issue, my sister and family visit Whitby annually. A trip on the NYMR use to be a 'tradition', they've been disappointed by diesels (usually fire risk subs) but been 'encouraged' by me. But last year they didnt ride because...
