Mr Riley always sends out grade A locomotives, no question about that, as for the rest of your post, you seem to have a problem with the way WCRC run their business. They are not fools and over the years they have served the railtour industry...

Something is either dangerous or it isn’t. If not having CDL was such a risk, trains not so fitted wouldn’t be allowed to run. The fact exemptions are allowed implies running without CDL isn’t so dangerous. VT having an exemption and running...

VT are running without CDL at the moment but they have an exemption to allow them to do it. The fact people aren’t falling out of the train left right and centre does rather add weight to the argument that CDL is unnecessary.

On the YouTube clips linked on here of the recent Shap and Shakespeare trips I can see no CDL lights on the coaches.

I guess people are terrified of travelling with VT at the moment in case they fall out of the train as they are still running without CDL (under an exemption).

Stainmore confirmed on FB earlier this week that No. 910 has now left the line and returned to Locomotion in Shildon. It appears its place has been taken by the newly restored NER storage van.
