I assume a lot who travelled to Whitby on the 9.20 would return on the mid-afternoon train. At least that had steam haulage but it doesn't seem to be prioritising customer expectations Jon

Yesterday the 9F worked the short set at 1055 and 1230 etc. The lunchtime Whitby departure was a 37 which swapped with the blue 37 at Grosmont. The train was well filled but the earlier internal working with the 9F wasn't at all. Surely the 9F...

But it sounded like the recent Pickering-Goathland services lost the railway huge revenue vs through running. The market has moved on since the 1990's, and that seems to be the case on many heritage railways Jon

I fired 76079 to Whitby on the 13.30 ex Grosmont, then through to Pickering and back to Grosmont on 12/4/2023. On shed it was found that the tubes were leaking yet again. One more attempt was made to expand them and I think it was tried once more...
