Lets just enjoy this engine whether it be the mainline or preserved lines and maybe give the NRM a bit of credit for keeping her in steam. She's a wonderful loco and a great ambassador for steam and right now that's exactly what steam needs.

I think it’s largely due to the trespass risk is a lot lower when it’s got a diesel on the front. Which is understandable

The Stephenson link valve gear would give the game away instantly. Either way I’ll take the news with a pinch of salt until any confirmed sightings, but welcome news if 45110’s return is imminent.

Indeed, SVR reckoned it was in need of considerable work being a victim of the water treatment issues in the early 2000's. Very pleased to hear this, let's hope it can find some useful employment.
