I’m all in favour of going cashless, but also for using the right arguments to support it not tautologies, and not justifying it by claiming savings that could, but haven’t actually, been made.

When I worked on Balmoral, her engines were the original Newburys and we managed either to get spares made liners, piston rings etc or overhauled in the case of the fuel pumps. Unlike the Sulzer & English Electric engines used in 60's loco's...

Interesting arguement. You’re saying you handle 10s of thousands of pounds of cash which is why you no longer want to handle cash. Just hoping all or most will switch to card? Rather large gamble.
