But as the air being pumped creates the vacuum, invariably referred to as a vacuum pump.
It was (is) not unusual to hear a squeak from GW loco’s, invariably coming from the vacuum pump..
Traveled today in coach B (5229). Slightly tighter than normal but having opening toplights and being able to hear ( and smell )the loco is well...
Either way it gives we punters a leg stretch on what is a long day, the other water stops being in loops.
GB is all First and usually immaculately prepared.
