Falls from heights are still a major cause of life changing accidents nationally hence the Work at Height Regulations. Had these been around when steam locomotives were being designed the water filling arrangements would be rather different.

Well I'm not commenting on the rights and wrongs either only to say that I've seen photographs of the problem areas of the boiler and "not for the foreseeable future" is a fair assessment.

Ah. "The pump trolley overhaul was completed and it has returned to service - with good media coverage." One of the positives from the year! Quite a turnover of Trustees. Only approx. 36,000 passengers. No wonder there are so many appeals....
