    They may be just taking a year off from doing them. The Edinburgh Summer Explorer didn't feature in 2026's lineup of tours but did in 2025. I think it might just be Saphos is rotating around which trips are the focal points for the year.

    I've just enjoyed 80 miles of steam haulage today behind Erlestoke Manor at the WSR. It is a superb locomotive and handled the banks with ease. It certainly is a very popular loco with the WSR crews. [BJ]

    Well, it was Saphos :). 12 coaches, fully booked. A nice touch today was the fact that 1960s built loco D400 hauled the train from Westbury to Taunton and, I presume, from Taunton to Westbury. <BJ>

    2004 was the year the main line return plans fell apart. The awarding body, RESCO, lost all the existing paperwork so there were no grandfather rights left over from the 1996-98 running. We would basically have started again with fresh surveys...
