My take on the return of Clan Line on Saturday- compared with a photo I took of 35029 on the up Bournemouth Belle on 2 September 1962. Both taken from the same Pirbright bridge that I took 35028 on the way down to the Mid Hants gala on Saturday....

How good it was to see and hear a train yesterday working without a diesel. Thank you Clan Line / Belmond in proving the point that with the help of a generator coach, a diesel is not a necessity in the consist when a train terminates at Bristol....
