I hope so, I am building a line based on LNWR area Macnhester circa 1980's and I would like a coal tank to be the typical LNWR engine for the preserved line.

I would love an 828, i'd be insta-ordering that. As it is I am giving consideration to buying and building a DJH 419 and Caley Models 828 to have a nice little display of the Caley locos (i have the Hornby single).

The 812 class would be a good choice for the Scottish modeller. They went all over the Scottish LMS system post-1923 and carried quite a few liveries - CR Black, CR Blue (both dark and light shades), LMS Black and BR Black. The LMS made some alterations too when overhauling them - the most notable being wingplates removed from the smokebox sides and replacing the flush smokeboxes with rivetted ones.

I think a caley 0-6-0 is a safe bet in OO gauge soon :), of course you probably have to wait till the back end of 2013 before you see it.

Thanks ADB, as I recall when you say something like that it's worth noting well :D Definitely 828 'as preserved' for me...

That's fine, easier on the budget the further away it is, but yeah, if that appeared, and as preserved 828 would be finding a home in my collection as well.

Hornby will be announcing their 2013 range a little earlier than usual this year, on 17th December. In the meantime, the new B17 and O1 have arrived, and very nice they look too.

Agreed there. if the rumours come off the model world will have a few surprises with regard to what is due in the pipeline, I am certainly amazed with the plans, then again I never thought Hornby would go through with the Duke if I am honest.

I thought an LNWR coal tank had already been advertised ?, or was it a LNWR special tank ?

ive recently heard there's a model producer offering to make ho/oo in India, and has already made some preproduction models of British outline, which although I've not "touched" it, looked detailed in photographs... In metal, painted and finished, as well as a range of metal oo gauge semaphore signals.

A friend just posted this on a facebook group, it seems that Hornby's international department has made something in RTR that could (if the HO gap isnt too noticeable) both fill a frequently requested gap in the market and concurrently screw over Dapol and Model Rail. The second version especially would work on quite a lot of layouts.

I noticed in that link there is a N gauge Brighton Belle. Not sure if it is British (1:148) or European (1:160) N gauge though.

Looks like it's appealing to a different market to me - that looks like a well moulded but ultimately budget equivalent of the Dapol one, presumably with a price tag to match?

    I hope Bachmann launch a 64xx or a Brighton E4 or a GER J15. I doubt it though.

The Scottish modelers have quite a high priority I would have thought.

The 2012/13 announcement was 13th March 2012. I expect a similar date for the 2013/14 range

If Bachmann saw an opportunity and announced a set of Chesham's, 353, Milk Van, No.1 and S. Siddons I'd be sorely tempted...

Well, they have laser-scanned pretty much everything that wasn't moving on the Bluebell, including a couple of loco cleaners who were spending too long on a tea break, so who knows about the Mets...

(Slightly more seriously, there is at least one more loco they have scanned but not yet made any announcement about...)
