    58023 has been restarted at the Battlefield line this week bringing the first working 58 in this country since 2004?? nearer,There is a short clip to view on youtube if you fancy just put in 58023, good news Well done to all

    year of manufacture? How much work was needed on the prime mover before startup? That's good for any old locomotive to wake up again! What is her HP?

    Not sure of what they had to do to get her running again but I think there was a major strip-down involved as the loco stood outside for many years.

    They were some of the last locomotives built by British Rail. Some are still operating overseas as they were sent to France and Spain to use on the building of high speed lines over there; but most were withdrawn in the UK over 10 years ago and have sat around doing nothing.

    It's been moved to Leicester along with 58016 for further engine work on contract basis but it's being done as time allows so it's a slow slog

    There was a photo of it today on the Preserved Diesels Facebook at Shack looking rather good after a repaint into mainline blue
