Thomas The Tank Engine and Friend on the Mainline.. nearly.. 25/02/17

    While at Didcot on the 25th February this unusual movement took place.. No road access at Didcot Railway Centre means any departures or arrivals at 81E had to be moved to a place where there was access.. 66155 and 66002 top and tailed the two tank engines to the Loco sidings and the 66002 took the steamers into the shed.

    Heres my video ,taken on my phone so not brilliant quality...

    The brown engine is AB 1047/1905 currently no.11. The blue engine is Hunslet 1873/1937, currently in-numbered but I believe is "Jessie" from Llangollen Railway.

    Thanks longdogs.. I wasnt sure of the identity of the locos or if they were based at Didcot.. thanks for the info

    I thought Didcot had it's own Thomas.?

    It will have but its not ready yet - hence the hire in. I'm guessing the Barclay was brought in as back up before they knew 4144 was back in action (or maybe that's not quite ready for this weekend which will need two in steam) and it being cheaper to do two in one movement.
