Once again there's a bit of nonsense on the website. For The Yorkshireman it says "Our train leaves London Victoria Railway Station ... . We head up the main line to Acton Wells Junction ...".

Will be keeping my powder dry until the diesel "shoveage" situation becomes clearer. Happy to part with a fair chunk of my hard earned cash but not if it's in effect a Class 47 tour.

Same here. I see that so far, RTC has not posted any 2016 tours running in the south or south west, which have been the worst affected by "shoveage". I'd like to hope that the return of 35018 isn't too far away and will be celebrated with a couple of "shoveage-free" trips on its former stamping grounds.

Presumably the number of coaches will be limited in line with the First Class Partnerships report recommendations.

I would expect so. The Yorkshireman usually has a diesel on the back that will take the train back to London. The Waverly's have increased in price from £ 69.00 in standard class to £ 89.00 so suggests a reduced load and/or a premium for travelling behind 60103( most likely both).

From a non-money stand point I do like what I have been seeing in terms the tours that being in offer for rtc and sd loco wise. I think that more of the program shall be released during the coming week.

Really am surprised that more tours haven't been announced this past week.

Which steam loco is on the CME today? Assume 46115 ruled out following two failed test turns.

The GB railtour next spring looks attractive - two Black Fives to the Far North, and all the way up, is going to be something else! I hope that RTC can achieve that. They had a lot of bad luck in 2015 with the Wootton Bassett incident happening before their tour.

The GB railtour always looks attractive once first advertised. Though I'm sure there will be the usual chop & changing in the run up period. The only set in stone certainty is the Black Fives !

Yes, the track record of providing what has initially been advertised is not impressive, although things are not all within RTC's control, to be fair. I have no problem with Black Fives being a set in stone certainty - the salt of the earth!

46100's first tour has been announced for February 6 Liverpool to Holyhead.

a Valentines White Rose behind 60009 or 70000 has been added for February 14 and they are working hard to get the summer program out soon.

    A February 13 Tin Bath.

Shame if that is her first run as don't all Liverpool-Holyhead trains suffer from diesel shoveage?

The diesel could stay behind, and run to Crewe for stabling, but highly unlikely.

Given it will b 46100's first run I would say diesel insurance will b the order of the day wherever? The route itself is undemanding away from Holyhead, so should be plenty opportunity for Royal Scot to do its own work.

A couple of Tours behind 6233 have appeared for the 19th and 26th of March.
On the 19th The Midday Scot shall go Manchester to Edinburgh.
March 26 sees the Duchess Returning Glasgow to Liverpool. The Royal Scot

I'm going to take a stab that she will be doing the 2 Winter Cumbrian Mountain Expresses in March.

According to the latest Steam Railway 5/3 is likley to be hauled by 46100, and perhaps a repeat one on the 16/4.
