    Came across this today, a new source of photos from a photo studio in Derby going back to the mid 19th century.

    In amongst the portraits shown in the article is a photo of the construction of the American Pullman cars at Derby in 1874 that I suspect, given the source, was previously unknown (Scroll down).

    Given these are just a selection, there may well be further photos of Midland / LMS interest to any archivist able to sift through. (Looks like there was an HLF-backed project to restore a large number of glass plate negatives).
