According to some posts on SE Gen, loco was out of gauge on up fast after Bickley Junction apparently, and was meant to be on up slow, but for some reason was incorrectly routed.

You've been on diesel tours RalphW? I am surprised and shocked. I thought you were a steam man, through and through. Clearly not. What a shame! Lol.

We watched it go through Petts Wood and blindly thought we were following it on the next Victoria service (it was pretty dark by then). Ho hum. We did wait until she eventually rolled into Victoria an hour down. Just as I'm curious, did the train actually set back and if so how far or was permission given to proceed forwards?

Does anyone else get the impression that the 34046/52 support crew are gunning for Clan Line's "Best polished engine" crown? She seems to be running pretty well, too.

Got double bowled on the end of platform 3 by a Cannon Street train and a fast service on the down main as the tour was runnng 1 minute early at that point, so wish I had twigged that it had gone wrong route after passing through the station!

34046 is certainly being turned out well by the support / Southall crew.

    Regards,

    Dan

The MNLPS has licensed its specialist car wax to the Braunton engineering team?

I was at far left on Hildenborough platform. Video was 4K so cannot post here, but screen grabs will follow. The 47 was working hard for the long climb, and I couldn't hear any flats.

No idea, our garden backs onto the Cumbrian Coast line and its rare a unit goes past without at least 1 bogie sounding like its running of 50p's!

Some of mine from yesterday. The Hildenborough shot is a (significantly cropped) screen grab from a 4K video - I'm amazed at the still quality possible with this these days.

A link to my Flickr posting of the video. It's a large file so may need time to load before a smooth play is possible.
