The Settle and Carlisle Explorer (56312-003)29-12

Here are some photos from Pathfinder's 'Settle and Carlisle Explorer' train which ran as follows: Derby-Birmingham New Street via Burton-Wolverhampton-Shrewsbury-Whitchurch-Crewe-Euxton Balshaw Lane-Blackburn-Hellifield-Carlisle-Penrith-Preston-Crewe and return via outward route. The train was hauled throughout by newly restored Hanson Traction(On loan to Colas) class 56 56312 (Formerly 003) which put in a brilliant performance, this was the first tour for the Class 56'Grids' since they were withdrawn from EWS stock in March 2004,the last tour hauled by 56078 and 115 ran at the end of that month and was called the 'Twilight Grids',looks like the sun is rising once again on this class in their revival.

Not strictly true. The fastline 56s have done a few tours in the last few years.
