It has been reported that 04 no 2298 will be working the passenger shuttle at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on Sun 26th April standing in for a failed steam loco. [-X

D2298 did indeed work the Up Yard passenger service yesterday. However, I am given to understand that the problem was a rail breakage last week (attended to over this last weekend) that prevented the intended steam loco 9466 from leaving the shed, rather than a failure of the loco itself.

No, the rostered loco was 30585 which had failed.
I know because I was the rostered Driver on Sunday!
