I know what colour I would like to paint but, as I'm not painting it, I couldn't possibly say. You'll just have to wait...... JS

My parents had a handful of David Shepherd prints in the house, both signed and (apparently from comments above… ;) ) the rarer unsigned variety. I've a slightly confused childhood memory of meeting him when 92203 was doing brakevan rides at the...

I was standing very close to where this photo was taken in 2008 at Toddington GWSR. David Shepherd was leaning out of 92203's cab. I don't think I have to say any more. [ATTACH]

Very sad news. A real credit to our movement - and both locomotives are still doing what they were built to do thanks to him.

There is a standard set of rules (notice periods, delivery etc), which have been agreed between all charter TOCs and NR planners and are there to ensure fair play; it is a fundamental that NR, as a monopoly supplier, has to demonstrate equal...

Why remain sceptical? Arguably WC and NR pulled an even bigger rabbit out of the hat by rescheduling the Tin Bath en route than DBC and NR did by planning the rerouting of a tour before the day of the event. Edit : James Shuttleworth has...

I have to disagree with you there. IIRC on a Tin Bath not many years back, the route had been affected by some problem - derailment perhaps but I forget exactly what. The tour departed as scheduled but while it was en route, NR and WC got their...

Well said. Unlike the national network who can call on the resources of a properly qualified structural engineer 24/7 (a service which does not come cheap by the way) or who has large quantities of staff / equipment / cash to hand, bridge bashes...
