We are pleased to confirm the timetable with loco allocations is now available to view on our website. Please see the links below for PDF versions of the timetables. a bit later this evening than we wanted due to tech issues (steam powered website!).

    Hi Respite,

We're still working things around as we understand the final available coach numbers.

Sets A & B will be the longer ones, C slightly smaller. DQB likely to be 6 and E varies, when it's a parcels train it's 1+vans, when it's not a parcels train it's 3.

Once we get the final position I'm sure we'll share.

    Cheers,
    B

Is there much parking at Bishops Lydeard? I normally start my journey at Minehead but travelling from West Wales means that going to Minehead adds a good half an hour to my journey.

Plenty, and I believe there is an overflow if the main car park fills up.
Always join at BL as only 20mins from the M5.
Must admit that it is a shame the South Wales to Somerset ferry never got off the drawing board though!

That ferry from S Wales looks more viable every time I drive the M5 south of Bristol!

Notice updated WTTs are now on the website with carriage set lengths and Norton light loco move times.

Just wondering which sets will have a buffet on board? Will Minehead have any beer on draught?

Not sure which day to come yet!

Just wondering after planning our traveling, on Sunday whatever set's arrival platform at Minehead, then changes for it's subsequent departure, some serious shunting involved?

Shunting between the two platforms at Minehead is quite straightforward - draw out over the crossing then push back into the other platform.

Agreed, I bet it's easier since the need to go through the crossing was removed, just wondered why the shunt of ECS from one platform to t'other?

A solo locomotive can move from one platform to another without going over the crossing, but with anything more than one coach, the train has to go over the crossing to reverse. I don't know why they are shunting ecs. It's more convenient if a loco is going to be turned for it to arrive in the bay so maybe it is to assist in turning of locos?

On the latest WTT published for Sunday, the 1113 into Minehead says 2 and then depart from 1 at 1210, presumably an oversight as the 1120 local is due out of 2. I also notice the first train off BL has a 10 min dwell at Doniford :Woot:.

First down on Sunday has watering time built in for Jessie at WN so that's not an error.

Yes that platforming at Minehead is a mistake. It will arrive and depart from the Main Platform.

    Sunday
    11.13 arr 2 dep 12.10 1 set B
    12.48 arr 1 dep13.45 2 set A
    13.40 arr 2 dep 14.40 1 set C
    14.18 arr 1 dep 15.20 2 set E
So nothing to do with set length or double header I think, just a miss-print?

Is 60007 likely to be visible/photographable at Bishops Friday/Saturday before it legs off to Kingswear?
