Above the air braking statement is this:

Moving onto the operations side of the business, a fitment plan with the Office of Rail and Road has been agreed for the fitment of Central Door Locking which will allow for the trains to operate on the mainline.

Odd this as WCRs carriages have no exemption currently and I believe VT have not fitted CDL on any carriage yet. Would have thought the deadline should be the same for all stock owners.

Vintage Trains had already agreed a plan with the ORR, and a timescale in which to fit CDL, well before the WCR court date. Similarly Belmond had already done the same for the Pullman.

Also there will be different circumstances, such as amounts of stock, amounts of use, etc. VT don’t run anywhere near as much as WC

Discussed elsewhere, but ORR’s evidence to the judicial review was clear that they needed proper plans for continued exemptions, not that there is a specific general deadline for operators to meet.

Thanks. Out of interest, do you know the 'end date' for VT?

I understood it to be late 2025. Belmond I think earlier 2025

Anybody got any ideas on timings for 10th May trip to Plymouth? They have the approx times as far as Oxford on the 10th and all the approx times for the 11th up on the website.

Trying to work out if I need a day or half day off work, and if it is worth staying down in Devon.

When asked on Instagram, they said they are hoping for it to be 7029.

Times up on RTT for the Shap Mountaineer on 16 March. Paths for the main train and separate paths for the diesel Carnforth--Carlisle--Crewe. Not bad paths either so maybe @gricerdon might have something to report.

Far too early to be certain. A lot of work is 'going on' to improve restrictions and collaborate on tweaking paths for this tour. The railway is very busy, especially in the Crossrail area

Any word if it is actually Clun Castle to Salisbury today?

Also, does anyone know if 7029 has ventured south of Reading to Basingstoke since it last worked the Hants & Dorset Rail tour on 5th Sept 1965? A friend of mine was the relief fireman on 73085 which took over the tour on the short leg from Basie to Eastleigh works. When 7029 arrived into Basie, the crew gave the thumbs down as she wasn't steaming well. On the run down the bank, 73085 just touched the ton through Winchester, one of his many stories of life on the footplate I never get bored of listening to!

one nice thing about this tour is it is not an ordeal of a day out with before start and well after bedtime finish and that is before you factor in any drives to and from home . Hope it has sold well
