In the latest edition of the GCR's "Mainline" I've just received, the Deltic Preservation Society have written that they have signed a 5-year deal with the GCR, for the Society to provide a Deltic to the Railway to take part in events and normal running sessions. Whilst they intend to rotate the 3 Deltics they own around, they are planning on launching D9015 Tulyar at the GCR sometime this year, and after that bring in 55009 Alycidon to enable them to run all three together (55019 Royal Highland Fusilier is already at the GCR). It's noted in their update that they have all run with each other, but never as a trio before.

That should be a very good day to see all 3 running together!

Ideal for mainline testing, a must for 009 in short term after engine woes, 015 to prove itself before a thought is given to MLR. Already an appeal open for 019, how much work there would be for 3 mainline, is open to conjecture, but great to see a bit of forward planning.

I think Miles Platting would also be nice and noisy.

Love the 'MAX SPEED 100 MPH' bit........................Aye, and a bit more when nobody was watching. The HST's weren't the only ones that could 'nip on a bit'.
125 down Stoke Bank ?........pah, easy peasy.:D  They could hold 120 on level track.
Us older fellas were lucky, we saw them introduced, we saw them every day hammering up and down the ECML, and now we catch a glimpse of them in preservation (and if you're VERY lucky, running on two engines):Happy:

Would a reasonable test be out of Bradford Interchange to Halifax?
Bit lacking in train length but 1 - 50 gradient and a deadstart.

    Yes. We can only dream.
I reckon Ralphs 'Miles Platting' suggestion would be worth getting out of bed for.

Why not do the full monty..Miles Platting then onto Huddersfield and onto Halifax via the Greetland curve up t'hill with the flange oilers fully primed..Mr Riley's 5 just made it up there. There to Bradford with more punishment. IIRC after the Riley five did that, steam was banned out of Bradford Exchange...

Like I said, we can only dream. I was there when Mr Rileys machine was out and about, 'just made it' is an understatement, one or two people were praying, and their prayers were answered, it DID make it.

Tulyar has been confirmed to attending GCR for running in, and testing, movement is expected once the gremlin list has been worked through.
Now has a set of working brakes, after remediation work last weekend,

The hoped for appearance of Tulyar at the GCR diesel gala has sadly been cancelled. <BJ>

''While we are approaching the final stages of Tulyar’s 30 year restoration we have unfortunately run out of time to complete the remaining minor tasks and finish the exam, move the loco to the GCR and undertake testing with coaching stock in time to run a “members only” event before the GCR Spring Diesel Gala which is only a few short weeks away.
D9015 will not therefore be ready to play an active part in the Gala.
We are hopeful that, subject to everything being completed in time, D9015 will then move to the GCR during April and be on static display during the Gala and at the Society’s AGM on Saturday 9thMay. While we plan to have the loco open for members to have a look round it will not be hauling passengers at this stage.
We expect D9015 to begin its testing at the GCR sometime later in May and we are then planning to have a members day for D9015 at the GCR followed by a celebratory “Tulyar Returns” weekend before its first gala appearance at the GCR Diesel Gala in September''.
