After cylinder repairs last week, NELPG's K1 2-6-0 No. 62005 was in steam today for trials at Shildon. If all is well, it will leave on Saturday for a week's running in on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway before heading for the summer season at Fort William. Here's the by now obligatory "coal drops" shot![IMG][IMG]

That's excellent news - the crack could not have been of major proportions then?

Ah yes StoneRoad - the confusion between K1 and the K1! Causes entertainment in our discussions sometimes. Frank, it was bad enough, but the professionalism of NELPG and the repairers won through.

Yes the K1 is back and will be going up to the NYMR for one week as we would like to test the engine with a load. after this one week at the NYMR it will then go up to Fort William, the K1 will take over duties for 5407 on the NYMR as they are short of mainline locomotives while 5407 covers for the K1 at Fort Willam Hopeful if all goes well 5407 will swap with the k1 with the K1 going to Fort willam.
