Looking good! I notice the post about 6430 has 1.3k likes already - panniers are a popular choice on the gwili!

The wooden framed building is in an interesting state. What's its origins?

The platform continues to progress, and elsewhere Taff Vale 220 sees work ongoing to the doors with a new (grey) guards door and bumpers fitted.

What is the plan with this platform? When will it come into public use, signalling, buildings etc?

the new platform is intended to be open as soon as possible, although it may be touch and go for Easter.

There are plans for permanent buildings although as you can imagine there’s been a lot of recent expenditure on the car park, carriage shed and new platform so a consolidation period will likely follow for now.

we hope the Treforest footbridge will arrive with us later this year as a project to connect the platforms and provide a little more heritage atmosphere.

Abergwili is unlikely to be signalled in the short or medium term with the railways signal box located at Bronwydd Arms next to the level crossing.

    regards

As Easter gets closer work is ongoing. Yesterday the platform road, formerly the loop, was jacked and packed. This coming week work starts on the edging stones and the tactile paving.

meanwhile at Bronwydd “Haulwen” is starting to come back together with work ongoing to re-wheel the loco.

    regards

    Matt

As the clock ticks down towards Easter progress continues. The white line has been painted (a dry day found at last!) and the first lamp post erected. The tactile paving arrived as well ready to be installed.

Wow! Looks good. Have you got enough lampposts to finish the new platform? It really looks great! What a great addition.
