I know the cylinders from 3612 made their way to 7754 at Llangollen but I have just read that the frames were sold to the LRS too.

Would be interesting to know whether the loco was indeed completely dismantled at Eardington or whether the frames went to Llangollen before presumably meeting their end there?

    Does anyone recall that please?

I asked this some years ago. Iirc the cut off stumps of frame parts only were tethered to the cylinders.
Sad but a sign of the times . Nobody would have thought it a loss way back then. Tis perhaps now one of those might have needs like Ben Alder and a class 22 diesel gone, and quite forgotten

The last note-book entry I can find for 3612 was in 1991 where frames lingered in the long grass at Eardington I seem to recall?? Pleased to be corrected if I have this wrong.

It is likely that the frames are the only usable part of what existed of 3612 which have been scrapped. I think the boiler is used in keeping 7714 / 5764 and what looks like a set of 57xx driving wheels can be seen somewhere along the SVR?? Cylinders in 7754 at Llangollen.
