Cannot find anything out, but line has only been operating Sunniside to Causey Arch since February due to track renewals.

Current fleet: Twizell, Cochrane and No 2.

Alfred & Judy at the nearby Beamish Museum this coming weekend?

VISITING LOCOMOTIVES CONFIRMED; Working at the Colliery railway will be the well known Port of Par ‘twins’ Alfred and Judy, perhaps better known to some as inspiration for Bill and Ben in the Thomas the Tank Engine stories. The Par pair are visiting from the Bodmin and Wenford Railway in Cornwall.

'Legends of Industry' Gala Weekend 7th & 8th September 2013

The biggest and best railway event in Tyneside and the most popular industrial railway gala in Britain, Legends of Industry is an event not to be missed.

With an exciting line up of locomotives, a busy timetable and a variety of other attractions it's an ideal day for families and railway enthusiasts alike... and with prices fixed at 2012 prices, its great value for money too!

Back by popular demand are the Port of Par 'twins' Alfred and Judy, the inspiration behind Bill and Ben in Thomas the Tank. 2013 will mark the first Gala appearance of the recently restored Hawthorn Leslie No.2, lining up alongside other resident steam locomotives Twizell and Sir Cecil A. Cochrane, plus Diesel Electric Armstrong Whitworth No.2

The timetable will feature a huge variety of passenger, mixed and demonstration freight trains operating, including up to four trains at any one time. An action packed day is promised for everyone, especially photographers. More information coming soon.

Aside from the full size trains there'll be a model railway exhibition featuring around ten layouts on both days, a full list of layouts will be available shortly.
