I was told on a trip earlier this year that someone wanted a trip to Bath on this date and they were booking all the Pullman seats, and that's why the trip was being run.

I wonder how many headboards can be carried by block-booking parties!?

Interestingly there is an 0Z36 light engine movement from BTM at 16:40 to Southall *.

Perhaps the plan is to take 34052 and the charter back to the capital without assistance. :) <BJ>

    * Edit: The light engine 47 has departed from BTM 143 mins early back to Southall. <BJ>

34052 'Lord Dowding' through Keynsham on time at 17:45 and going like the wind.

What a fantastic sight and sound!!

No assistance whatsoever from the class 37 which was hanging on for dear life at the rear.

Two headboards adorning the locomotive this evening.

If you're still deciding if you should go out to see it or not, go for it. You won't be disappointed. <BJ>

Going like the clappers through Cholsey on the fast a few minutes down (booked slow line to Reading). 37 sounded like it gave a big shove to get the train up to speed but it, thankfully, had shut off by the time it reached Cholsey.

Arrived at the Sunninghill climb to be met with a TSR magnet and restriction board, and then faced with 37685 & 47746! Filmed the return at Ashford (Surrey) listen out for the very square wheel on the end carriage.

One more from Sydney Gardens tonight. The box at the far end was making a bit of a racket but as it was a 37, we'll let that go!

Cheers - it wasn't great light but ISO 3200 and a bit of work in Lightroom helped!
