No I do not currently volunteer
What chance the 2'6" locos visiting the W&L at some point in the future? I'm sure the Pakis Baru pair would be happy running to Cyfronydd or Castle with a few Zillers.

Is standard gauge 0-4-0PM 'Jacob' on public display, and has any progress been made of it? Very interesting locomotive

It was a condition of funding that went into MLR 740 that required it to be kept in secure, covered accommodation, quite apart from all the volunteer effort that went into the restoration at Leighton Buzzard. Being planted in external storage for so many years before going to Leighton Buzzard the damp UK weather had taken its toll. It would be good to see this loco back in action. It is a shame it has been dismantled.

Wonder if one or both of the Baldwins will be running this March?! Hopefully the ex-Fiji Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 might be.

I seem to remember Henry posing that HC972 would be finished around Christmas and therefore hopefully ready for March. I think that the Davernport was the next loco into the works after that, then Michael/KotS (but then I may have made that all up!).

One of the Baldwins is no longer at Statfold having been sold last year.

Didn't know that the Baldwin had been sold on. Where was it sold to?

I think it was to a member of the West Lancs, I'm sure I read it in one of the railway comics...

I'm afraid we havnt started the Baldwin yet.

The Fiji Hudswell (HC972 1912) is coming on nicely and should be running on the March Enthusiast Day.

The sign-writer is booked and its being piped up at the moment.

The Davenport has been bought up from the Grain Store ready to start once weve finshed the Hudswell. This is the first time we`ve had to book a carpenter before a welder!

Excellent news Henry - I look forward to seeing her in action (only in photographs unfortunately until later in the year!)

Any clues as to livery? Will she match her cousin loco from Lautoka? ;)

I see from this months narrow gauge news that DLR #2 is in the works at Statfold, is this the start of the work to return it to its original condition?

Interesting it seemed to have gained a name in the NG News magazine this month - but this may have been a typo?

Henry's comment may well relate to the thread title which gives the wrong date as it is resurrected from last year, rather than any dodgy mathematics on your part Ian.

    Quite right Nexuas!

We were getting people applying for the 23rd of March which is why I started a new thread.
