Correct, its that or stick music on it. I may invest on a dedicated audio recorder. Silence on the clip is not desirable. Pleased to note however that the drone is not audible from 60 metres away.

I've never encountered one of those - an automatic sounder plays the tones? Interesting.

There is only one Golden Arrow engine and LSL may learn that one day.:)

They won't, as long as they think dressing up any steam engine brings in the punters (and it may well do so).

Come across a couple in my time. You dont know the damn things are there till the first train goes by, superseded by the warbler in most location now. Mind you, popular walk, very busy crossing.

When 60009 worked the VSOE a few years ago, making up a bracket for the Bournemouth Belle headboard was talked about in the pub one night! Fortunately it wasn't progressed, but the loco ran with discs a few times.

Did it ever happen during the exchanges? If not, could it have?

Well I had Saphos tickets sent in the post in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and have not used them since, hence my question. No need for that tone.

And I had Saphos tickets sent in the post just last August so if they've stopped doing that it's a recent thing.

Not with UK Railtours or Pathfinder you don't, they seem to be firmly sticking to still posting out tickets. RTC went to emailed tickets some years ago.

Nice videos. Inevitable of course, but I see the trip was a dual motive power one although it looks as though the diesel did just the minimum. The sign of things to come across main line charters it seems.

Nothing wrong wit Braunton but for a realistic 21st century GA Pullmans are necessary. A Royal Scot with GA headboard looks ridiculous

Look what happened the other week though through no fault of Saphos, the box on the back came in rather useful.

UKR have started sending out e-tickets. Makes sense with the state of postal deliveries these days.

Saphos started sending out e-tickets this year. Last year was the final year they sent them in the post. This year they've also started text messages to phones as well. If they have your mobile number, you will get a text message around half an hour before the train picks up from your station, informing you of the platform number and the order of the stock. On the Golden Arrow the other week where we got re-routed, I was even getting text messages from them telling me what was going on, even though I was on the train and being briefed by the stewards!

Just so, I agree. But I don't know about you, when I make a journey by car I don't have a bike in the back in case the car breaks down or the road is closed and I may have to continue the journey through the woods. Of course, having a 'just in case' is always useful....but.....!

True Al but this is the UK railway we are talking about. I rarely if ever check traffic or road work reports before I leave home for anywhere in the car, but I always check RTT before a trip towards London to make sure the unit as even left from Waterloo in the down direction, yet alone survived a crew change at Bournemouth.
