The Mk 2 set just departed Crewe behind a green 47 en route from Southall to Carnforth.

Passing a grim and drizzly Stone this morning.

Followed on to Penkridge where it passed 22 mins early - I was distracted by the coffee and bacon butty --

That shot sums up the conditions perfectly!

I think I walked past you this morning, when I scouted out the big footbridge south of the station, then decided to use the station itself. You were just setting up by the big fence, with a short step ladder?

Mine from today. First two between Spring Road and Hall Green, third one between The Lakes and Earlswood (this one in poor light).

    Hi,

Does anyone know if the Cumbrian mountain express from Crewe on the 24th August is fully steam hauled throughout. The website and RTC themselves say yes but looking at the timings and in previous years steam normally comes on at Carnforth.

    Thanks

It's very unlikely that steam will do any more than Carnforth, Carlisle and back to Preston.

Any hints about what's hauling this Saturday's (16th March) CME?
