Well that's one of the issues and @Bulleid Pacific has already given clues as to what it will be like after his recent stuffy experience up north.

The other issue is of course the extra motive power available other than when it is hauling the train. But as this is one of the very few RTC trips down south with the correct motive power up front - i.e, a Class 8 - then I guess you just have to hope for the best.

I have decided to roll the die for this one.

It was consideration of that trip that made me wonder about aircon and then to raise the question here. I have ridden behind Clan Line a few times and I have been to Weymouth via Yeovil and back via Southampton with steam apart from the Yeovil to Weymouth leg, so the trip would offer me nothing new except, perhaps, getting cooked.

I will book on this as it is Clan Line although it may well be my only main line trip this year just hope West Coast can sort something out

You do spout some rubbish, who says that RTC are going to fold, only you support pessimistic imagination, their overseas trips are very popular and I don't think there is any fall off in that side of the business, similarly West Coast throwing in the towel.

Had an email today with a discount to go on the 26th June Swanage Belle. Motive power is stated to be 45596 Bahamas?! Is it more likely to be a Black Five?

Unless West Coast produce some CDL equipped Mk1s it won’t be Bahamas

RTC's website states Black 5 No. 44871 hauling this trip.

Monday 24th June - Empty Coaches (plus 44871 ?): 5Z42 1126 Carnforth Steamtown to Southall WCRC
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service...4/detailed

    Wednesday's movements:
Diesel hauled ECS (44871 attached to rear): 5Z92 0628 Southall WCRC to London Victoria
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service...6/detailed
44871 outbound (with WCRC diesel on the rear): 1Z92 0816 London Victoria to Swanage
https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service...6/detailed [Arrive Swanage at 13:18 according to Working Timetable with 16 minute pathing stop at Corfe]
Diesel to Southampton then reverse with 44871 via Millbrook, Romsey and Andover return: 1Z93 1629 Swanage to London Victoria
https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service...6/detailed [Actually scheduled to leave Swanage at 16:33]
ECS back to Southall: 5Z93 2218 London Victoria to Southall WCRC

    Believe the consist will be 44871 + support coach + 9 [Mk2s ?] + Diesel
Arrival back at Southall means that everything is in place for 29th Saturday's trip from Euston to Chester - "The Cheshireman"

Getting on at Preston, any info if we’re going to be 86 to Carlisle due to the late running. (Tresspassers MKC area)

With the tour making up time I’d say Tangmere from Carnforth as it can swap over quickly to make up some more time. Only my assumption mind .

11 minutes made up to Shap Summit. Either Tangmere is on steroids or she’s having a helping hand.

Any info on whether the planned 1418 departure from Carlisle is still going as booked? Trying to work out whether it’s worth turning out for it coming up Ais Gill or not.

RTT shows it as starting off, still at 1418, as "Diesel locomotive, 420 tonnes", which doesn't sound as though 34067 is hauling it? Or is it a mistake, & the trailing load should have said the usual 715 tonnes?

I often find RTT gets these things wrong. But then who knows.

Shouldn't that be "RTT is only as good as the feed it gets from NR" so it's NR who often get it wrong.

The 47 was assisting heavily at Docker but the late running Glasgow Pendo was not far behind.
